Barriere is a district municipality located roughly 66 kilometers on the Yellowhead Highway #5 north of Kamloops, or a 45minute drive. Barriere has a small city centre consisting of basic shopping, medical and professional services, a few restaurants, building centre, Interior Savings Credit union and other smaller businesses. Barriere in known for its urban residential properties, rural acreages, lakes and world class recreational activities such as snowmobiling and ATV riding.
Barriere Activities
Nearby North and East Barriere lakes have recreational properties that are heavily used in the Spring and Summer months. Barriere is also known for the popular Thompson Valley Rodeo held on the Labor Day long weekend.
